Kazakhstan assumes the Presidency of the UN Security Council

On 1st January 2018, Kazakhstan has assumed the Presidency of the UN Security Council, the body to which the United Nations  have delegated the main responsibility for the maintenance of the international peace and security.
During its annual mandate, Kazakhstan intends to focus on the nuclear weapons dismission, the cessation of local conflicts and global wars and the strengthening of security and cooperation among  Central Asia Countries.
